FAQ

Before you arrive, during your stay or when planning the next part of your journey, just ask. Pavilion team is there to make Phnom Penh (and Cambodia) easier to enjoy.

What makes Pavilion different from other hotels in Phnom Penh?

More than a conventional city hotel, Pavilion is a peaceful hideaway in the heart of Phnom Penh. The 36 rooms, each with its own decor, are spread across four restored period villas surrounded by mature tropical gardens and two swimming pools. The Royal Palace and riverside are only a few minutes away on foot, yet once inside the gates, the atmosphere is remarkably quiet and secluded.

Is Pavilion right for me?

If you enjoy character, gardens, privacy and a sense of place, probably. Pavilion is particularly suited to couples, independent travelers and guests who prefer intimate hotels to large international properties. The atmosphere is deliberately relaxed and low-key, so the hotel is less suited to large groups or travelers looking for the facilities of a large resort or business hotel.

What is the story behind Pavilion?

The hotel is set in four restored period villas that have gradually been brought together to create Pavilion as it is today. Their original character has been preserved as much as possible, maintaining the architecture, gardens and atmosphere of the houses while adapting them to contemporary hotel life.

Why book direct?

Booking directly — through the website, by phone, email or with the reservations team — is usually the best rate and makes it easier to prepare your stay in advance: room preferences, early check-in, airport pick-up, special occasions or a longer stay. It also gives the hotel more flexibility to help if your plans change.

How do I book a room?

You can book directly with Pavilion or through Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia, Trip.com and Airbnb. Booking direct makes it easier to tailor your stay and is often the best available rate.

Do I need to pay a deposit when booking?

No. Pavilion does not take a deposit to confirm a direct booking. Reservations are secured by providing credit card details through the hotel website, subject to the cancellation conditions of the selected rate.

Which room should I choose?

That depends on how you like to travel. Double and Superior rooms are good choices for simplicity and value; Studios and Suites offer more space; Private Pool Rooms and the Private Jacuzzi Bungalow provide additional privacy and something a little special.

Tell the reservations team what matters most — space, quiet, garden, pool, budget — and they will happily recommend a room.

Can I request a specific room or view?

Of course. As a boutique property, the rooms are not identical. Preferences such as garden view, private pool, quieter location or particular setting can be stated when booking and will be accommodated whenever possible, subject to availability.

What is the cancellation policy?

Terms vary according to room type, rate and booking channel. Some rates are flexible while others are non-refundable. Please check the conditions shown when booking, or contact the reservations team if you're unsure.

Do you take group bookings?

To preserve the quiet and intimate atmosphere guests crave for, Pavilion generally doesn't accept group bookings. Extended stays and longer visits are very welcome.

Do you offer special rates for longer stays?

Yes. If you're planning to make Phnom Penh your base for a while, contact the reservations team directly with your dates. Depending on the period and length of stay, a longer-stay rate may be available.

What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 2:00 PM and check-out is by 12:00 noon. Reception is staffed 24 hours a day, so late arrivals are no problem.

My flight is arriving really late. Can I still check in?

Yes. Reception is open around the clock. If you're arriving late, simply share your flight details so the team knows when to expect you.

Can I check in early or check out late?

Often, yes — subject to availability and sometimes a small fee. Let reception know your travel times in advance and the team will do its best to accommodate you.

Can I leave my luggage before check-in or after check-out?

Yes. Luggage can be left at reception while you enjoy Phnom Penh before the room is ready or after checking out.

Can I leave luggage while traveling elsewhere in Cambodia?

If you're returning to Pavilion after visiting Siem Reap, Kampot, Kep, the islands or elsewhere, speak to reception. Depending on the size of the luggage and length of storage, a solution can usually be found.

My flight leaves late. Can I stay at the hotel after checking out?

Please ask reception. Depending on occupancy, a late check-out may be possible, or the team can help make the hours before departure more comfortable.

Can I invite visitors to the hotel or to my room?

Pavilion is reserved for registered hotel guests and does not accept outside visitors. In particular, for the safety, privacy and tranquillity of everyone staying at the hotel, only registered guests are permitted in the rooms.

If you are meeting friends or colleagues in Phnom Penh, reception will be happy to recommend nearby cafés, restaurants or other places to meet.

What payment and ID do I need at check-in?

Please bring a valid passport or ID and, where applicable, the credit or debit card used for the reservation.

Is Pavilion suitable for children?

Pavilion being adults-leaning boutique retreat built around quiet garden courtyards and pools, guests should generally be 16 or older. Traveling with children? The nearby sister hotel, White Mansion, does welcome families and the reservations team can check availability.

What is the policy on pets?

Pets are usually not permitted at Pavilion. The nearby sister hotel White Mansion is pet-friendly.

Is smoking allowed?

What room types are available?

Pavilion has 36 rooms across four restored period villas, in eight categories: Double, Twin, Superior Double, Deluxe Double, Studio, Suite, Private Pool Room and Private Jacuzzi Bungalow. Each is individually decorated.

What's included in every room?

Can I work remotely from Pavilion?

Yes. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property and many guests combine their stay with work. For an extended stay or if you need a room particularly suited to working, mention it when booking and the reservations team can recommend the most appropriate option.

Do you have connecting rooms ?

Because Pavilion occupies several historic villas, conventional connecting rooms are limited. If you're traveling together, contact the hotel before booking and rooms can be allocated close to one another whenever possible.

Are rooms accessible to guests with mobility issues?

The hotel is spread across several heritage villas with garden pathways and some level changes, so it wasn't originally designed for completely step-free access. Contact the hotel before your stay and the team can recommend the most suitable room and location.

What voltage, power sockets are used in Cambodia?

Cambodia uses 230V, 50Hz. Many sockets accept both flat two-pin US-style and round two-pin European plugs. Travelers with UK or Australian plugs should bring a universal adapter.

How far is the airport? Do you arrange transfers?

Since 2025, Phnom Penh is served by Techo International Airport, some 25 km from and to the hotel, so the time needed for transfer depends on traffic and time of day. How do I get around Phnom Penh?
